The Man from Snowy RiverThe largest township within Towong Shire is Corryong with a population of approximately 1,200 people. The township offers visitors great variety of shopping, accommodation, eateries, self drive tours and sporting facilities. Situated on the Murray Valley Highway, the setting is incredibly peaceful. There are many lookouts presenting magnificent views of Corryong and its surrounding valleys. Explore the Man from Snowy River Museum, visit the grave of "The Man from Snowy River" - Jack Riley - and participate in an annual celebration of this Australian legend at the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival.
