The Murraylands region is located in eastern South Australia, on the national transport route from the eastern states to South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The regional economy of the Murraylands is characterised by a high level of diversification. Agriculture in the region ranges from broad acre cropping and livestock production to intensive horticulture. Over recent years a number of small and medium size manufacturing establishments have developed within the region. These industries have benefited from the strategic location of the Murraylands as a regional and national centre for transport and warehousing distribution. www.murraylands.org.au

Murray Regional Development Board (NSW)

Murray Regional Development Board

The Murray Regional Development Board (MRDB) is one of 13 Government appointed advisory boards which report to the NSW Minister for Regional Development. The MRDB works particularly close with each of the 12 local government areas in NSW that form its region and collaboratively work on cross border initiatives with Victorian communities, further strengthening economic growth, through the management of relevant projects. This is achieved through direct consultation on the ground with local government, key stakeholders and industry groups.

With such a broad range of industry in the region, the MRDB provides relevant advice and feedback to council along with regional businesses to ensure that together we grow the Murray Region. This is done through encouraging regional development and attracting international-class businesses to the region. To ensure that our vision for the Murray region is met, the MRDB is always monitoring trends and communicating directly with industry leaders. For more information please visit the website.
